Dog Friendly Beaches:
Formby, Merseyside This elemental stretch of coastline, dog friendly and a few miles from Liverpool and Southport, has always been a haven for lovers of wildlife. It is a true coastal wilderness, where rare red squirrels hide among pine forests, and asparagus grows among the rolling sand dunes. Make sure you head to the Lifeboat Road end of the beach, and steer clear of the National Trust section. This is where you’ll find most people heading to catch a glimpse of those elusive red squirrels, so dogs must be kept on leads here. John Paul Pet Waterless Foam Shampoo for Dogs & Cats 250ml Danes Dyke, Yorkshire Located on the south side of the dramatic Flamborough Headland, the beach at Danes Dyke is an impressive stretch of sand, striking white pebbles and rock pools, bound by imposing cliffs to the east and west.Danes Dyke was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2002 in recognition of its wildlife value and its importance and runs for 4km across the whole of the Flamborough Headland, from the nature reserve here in the south to Cat Nab on the Bempton Cliffs in the north. On the south side of the headland at the end of the dyke is a deep ravine providing wonderful views across Bridlington Bay.

Taking Pets on Holiday
St Bees, Cumbria This popular family, dog friendly, beach, is also the starting point for Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk and lies just 40 miles from the England-Scotland border.

The beach, near Lulworth, is also very definitely dog friendly and makes a dramatic spot for a late evening walk with your pooch. Weymouth Beach The part that dogs are allowed on is flat and sandy with easy access to the water. However the area is only really about 200 sq. metres (maybe better suited to smaller dogs) Dog Friendly BeachesBranscombe, Devon This super beach is approached through winding country lane from the picturesque village of Branscombe. Holkham, Norfolk Together, the beach, dunes, lagoons and nature reserve form one of England’s most impressive and accessible wildernesses. Nite Ize Nite Dawg LED Dog Collar
Mawgan Porth, Cornwall This west facing beach is a great alternative to the more crowded beaches at Newquay and Watergate Bay. For dog walkers, it can be short, when the tide is in. The best way around this is to take the South West Coastal Path to either Watergate or Bedruthan Steps, to give yourself the option of a really lengthy stroll. Dog Friendly BeachesBedruthan Steps is a large sandy beach dwarfed by spectacular rock outcrops. The beach is closed in winter, opening again on March 1st, Dogs allowed. You can choose from wide expanses of golden sand such as Marloes or secluded bays such as Broad Haven south. During the height of summer, 1st May to the end of September, some of the more popular bathing beaches have dog restricted areas (This includes Poppit, Newgale, Broad Haven, Dale, Lydstep, Tenby South, Saundersfoot and Amroth). This still allows you access to miles of beach on which your dog can run, Pembrokeshire welcomes your best friend, but please be considerate to other beach users and remember you must always clean up after your dog. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path covers 186 miles of breathtaking coastal scenery. That's a long walk that will tire both you and your dog! The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority are fitting dog gates to many new and replacement stiles on the path and have decreased the number of stiles from 530 in 1993 to the current total (in 2010) of under 100. 40 of those left have ‘dog gates’. Where ‘dog gates’ are fitted they are usually designed to exclude lambs; this construction unfortunately may not allow a big enough gap for the largest of dogs.
